Master’s Degree in Design

The objective of the Master’s Degree in Design from Univille is to consolidate the union between the university and companies for the production of applied scientific and technological knowledge. It further seeks to provide a highly qualified professional, granting the same powers, degree and prerogatives of academic master, enabling the graduate to practice teaching and apply for doctoral programs in Brazil and abroad.
CAPES (Coordination of the Development of Higher Level Academic Staff) have recognized the Master’s Degree in Design from Univille, supported by the high level of qualifications of its faculty, institutional expertise, as well as the excellent physical structure for the development of research in design. Thus, the Master’s degree opens an excellent space for qualification of the student, who can experience all project steps and the building of ideas, immersed in the culture of innovation, technology and production processes.
For companies, the Master’s Degree in Design creates an opportunity to invest in innovation and applied research, together with the university in all areas of knowledge of which it is composed, being a center of research and development, characterized by creative potential and constant renewal.

The Master’s Degree in Design is a result of the maturity of 15 years of experience in the Univille Master’s Design Course, a course recognized for excellence in teaching and for preparing trained professionals for the Brazilian job market.

Target Public

Professionals graduated in Design or in other areas, but who act professionally in research, creation and development of products or services.

Course Objectives
The Professional Master's Degree with specialization in Design and Sustainability aims to contribute to the qualification of high level professionals, committed to the production of technical and scientific knowledge for solving problems related to the design of products and services under the focus of sustainability in an urban, industrial and artisanal context.

Curriculum matrix
The Professional Master’s Degree in Design is a 24 month course, with 24 credits going to disciplines and 6 credits to the final Project.

Lines of Action
Action Line 1 – Design Production and Sociocultural Context
This line of action investigates the relationship between design and social reality, considering the urban context, the market, consumer behavior, society, material culture and its symbolic and aesthetic issues. It covers the influence and actions of design in passing on cultural and social values, aimed at developing sustainable products and services

Action Line 2 - Technological Production and Sustainability

This line of action investigates issues focused on the study of user-object relations and the environment, considering aspects of interface, physical interactions and sustainability. It covers new possibilities in relation to aspects of development, production and design process management and the development of products and services.
